Hello, my name is Jimmie Irby, JR. Most of my friends call me Irb, Jay, or J-Irb.
I currently live in Gardena, CA, which is a small city on the border of Los Angeles. I work at a non-public school as a Behavior Specialist. Kane Eras non-public school services special ed students with behavior issues. I also work part-time as a football coach at a Catholic High School in the city of Long Beach, CA.
I played football at Texas A&M and am continuing my passion of coaching the sport. With furthering my education with a Masters in Kineseology, my goal is to become a head coach at an accredited college. My experience on and off the field has made me the person who I am today. My work as a Therapeutic Behavioral Services Specialist has taught me how to identify and diagnose emotional and behavioral problems, enabling me to provide fundamental behavioral skills that every individual can utilize when building on their personal and societal identity. In relation, I’ve been able to transfer this knowledge in my development as a coach. By acknowledging individual differences, I am able to develop and implement defensive game plans that promote skill development and team unity, provide feedback and positive criticism of player’s performance, and discuss strategies and tactics that will contribute to the mastering of such skills.
In addition to my day jobs, I am also a loving husband and father. I am married to my high school sweetheart of 13 years. Together we are raising our two children, son, 11, and daughter, nine. I love taking family vacations to San Diego, CA during the summer. I enjoy staying active outdoors as much as possible. I also enjoy taking care of my three dogs, two Rottweilers, and one Cane Corso.
Follow me on my journey through my master's program. Track my growth intellectually, spiritually, and physically as I share my thoughts and experiences with you. I hope to lead as an example for those who are in need of a little insight or inspiration.
