Irby came to St. Anthony High School in the spring of 2012. Before joining the Saints coaching staff, Irby coached at Long Beach City College from 2010-2011. He coached Defensive Line and Linebackers. He contributed to their first Conference Champion win since 2005. Irby also coached at Banning High School in Wilmington, CA , coaching Defensive Line and Special Teams from 2007-2009. This was under the direction of head coach Chris Ferrigamo, one of the most winning coaches in high school football. Irby began his athletic career at Banning High School in Wilmington, CA, where he was a two-sport athlete playing basketball and football. He earned All City/Conference honors as a three-year starter at Defensive End. He continued on to Mount San Antonio Community College in Walnut, CA where he broke the school season record by recording 18 sacks and sacks per game record as a freshman. Also he completed with a total of 30 sacks breaking another school record, earning him JC Grid Wire All-American honors as a freshman/sophomore at Defensive End. He then transferred to Texas A&M University where he earned pre-season All Big 12 honors as a Defensive End/Linebacker. During that time, he played under Head Coach R.C. Slocom, one of the most winning head coaches in college football. Irby played with several arena football teams. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is currently working on a Masters Degree in Kinesiology.
